Training 3: Ethics

The course is based on the current version of the NASW, AAMFT and AMA Code of Ethics. Topics covered are confidentiality guidelines for maintaining confidentiality, limits to confidentiality, disclosing confidential information, responding to a subpoena, HIPAA’s privacy rule, and clients who are minors.

Objectives

1. Evaluate the principles underlying the standards within the varying Code of Ethics.
2. Evaluate the implications of these principles for social workers in their daily practice.
3. Summarize the discussion of the key standards within the various Code of Ethics.
